Just don't goto your autopart store and ask them for some rear end lube, you might get some very funny looks.

When you run Mobil 1, you don't need the additive. A little extra insurance never hurt anything though....just more money.

I did need the limited slip additive in my car when I used Mobil 1. The rear end started to make some weird noises, I put the additive in and it went away.

Check out the free mods, like descreening the MAF, the TB-Bypass, etc. Do small things to learn about the car.

Do all maintenance, all filters (including fuel filter), tranny service, oil change, plugs/wires,
O2 sensors (they have a big impact on MPG), rear end service.

From there you can start modding. Start with a CAI (all CAI's are the same. I prefer Moroso) and a cat-back. Flowmasters suck. Period. They sound nice, but you gain about 1/2 HP. Get a better cat-back and gain 10+ RWHP.

From there think about more indepth things. Where do you want to go with this car? If you want to 1/4 run it, get a stall (at least 3000 RPM), a tranny cooler (mandatory with an aftermarket stall), and think about gears. Get 3.73's, 4.10s are too high for an A4.

With those mods you should run around a 13 flat. I've seen several LT1s in that range with those mods.

I'd also suggest a mail-order tune. Check out madz28.com or pcmforless.com.

Happy modding!

It is a good idea to change plugs and wires but you might not need to yet, the previous owner may have had it done recently and its an expensive job if you cant do it yourself. But if you do get into doing the plugs and wires put a set of headers on at the same time because you can barely get to the plugs with stock manifolds. Before you buy a Cat-back exhaust listen to some other camaros and see which one you like. O and LOL on asking for rear end lube. The easiest mod to do first is a Cold air intake, I used to have a moroso, but know I have an SLP because it looks really nice.

The best thing to do is find out what mod you want to do on your budget. Search for every install you can find and for problems that people might have come across with the mod. Then dig in and if you get stuck, you can allways ask on here or do another search. To get an" idea" of what some catbacks sound like try here
I went with the flowmaster cat-back myself but did the SOR that uses a 30-series muffler instead of the 80-series. Although it doesn't give you the look of duals, it will outflow a crossflow muffler. On top of that the sound is deeper and more aggressive than the 80-series DOR setup, you get a 3" chromed tip and all of this for $250 from Summit Racing. I do recommend however with whatever system you go with that you get it welded. This ran me about $25 at a muffler shop. This will get rid of annoying ticks that the clamps can't seal.

Suspension, suspension, suspension... and then a cold air intake and some long tube headers.

Your gonna want the FIPK, I believe the other one is just an airfilter while the FIPK includes tubbing and relocates the airfilter.

definatly make sure it is tip top shape before you spend any money on extras.... like me for example, i didnt get all these 1000+ posts for helping people, i got them trying to figure the car out, and what the hell was wrong...
I also racked them up in about 2 months, i replaced spark plugs, wires many times(watch out for belts), radiator, hoses(still need to do them all)
and now because of lack of money i had to retire the car until later notice due to smog rules... this of course was after I replaced the headers and stripped the bolts

well anyhow, yea i still got a slipping tranny and many other problems i should have fixed prior to modding.

but yea headers, exhaust, cold air, better tires, and your good to race any ford and see em in your rear view
yes definatly do suspension, i've got eibash prokit w/ blitsien shocks... its a low ride but its a firm ride, i can take any curve i want at whatever speed. (now my gut feeling wont let me test out the suspension)
