Is there a reason why the sudden diference? and should i be worried? the car runs good still, just vibrates more and sounds like she is running rough. please help. thanks

A poly mount is going to vibrate more because since its made from a tougher material, it doesnt absorb alot of vibrations. Also, Ive heard of Energy Suspensions mounts being taller than stock mounts, causing vibrations because of the u-joint isnt exactly straight. I dont know how true that is though.

I doubt Jegs sells a stock tranny mount. The stock GM mount has been improved and is stronger than the original design. It will produce less vibration than a poly mount.

Actually Didnt You Just See What I Wrote, It Says I Bought It At Jegs. I Would Know What Jegs Is. Thank You Not Trying To Be Mean, But Make Sure You Know For A Fact Before You Assume. Thanks

I think what he is saying is that the stock GM mounts have changed and are a little bit stronger than the old stock mounts that the cars came with. I wouldnt worry about the mount unless the vibrations are too much for you to bear.

If you havent already, head over to www.speeddensity.org for a bunch of other 93 owners. Lots of good 93 specific stuff and plenty of knowledgable members to help your speed density car run its best.

You should address the underlying problem of why the mount breaks and not just replace it everytime. Chances are one or both of you motor mounts is bad allowing the engine to torgue over. With the tranny in gear and the brake applied, give it a little throttle and see how much the engine rotates.

I have a Poly mount from www.thunderracing.com and vibration isn't that bad. Sometimes I do want my stock one back though.

Re: Tranny mount keeps busting....

well i think the reason why this is the second mount, is cause the last one i bought was a cheapo, and my car is old, and after i put the chip in my tranny shifts alot harder. plus it doesnt help that i have a lead foot. but thanks for all the info guys. much appreciated!!!!
