When i first start my car it idles high then low for about 2 mins. then it idles fine for about 10 mins. then it start smoke out the exhaust (black). I changed my iac. Could my valves be adjusted wrong? They dont make a lot of noies though. My driver side o2 is not connected because i have to weld a bung in my custom y-pipe. my car is on blocks again

i bet thats your problem

not getting any readings so its adding fuel causing your rich condition and the black smoke.

also i think its bad to have just one o2 in because it might dump fuel in one side and lean the other out.

so get it in there

 

I figured it wasnt good to not have a 02 hooked up. Hey grant now that you say that, one side off my headers is almost glowing from being lean i guess. do you think its messing up my idle?

very possible, i know bad o2's or no o2's can make a car run like crap, and not idle.

you might wat to wait for some more expert advice but definatly get the missing o2 in place. then run it for a while and let the pcm learn the a/f ratio again. then see if you have any problems.
