Car heats up with A/C on only under load?

Ok it's a 97 Z28 142 or so thousand miles. Now as of a week ago when under load and a/c on car heats up way past 210 I have a 160 thermostat. Now when I come to a stop or just idiling in say parking lot 3 minutes car is back to under 180. I charged the unit cause it was low, I have good hoses on car, I may need to add more dex than I have water but it should't affect this problem. Guys I am calling on some thinking causeI am all out of ideas. BTW not so bad at Night here in houston but during the day the windows down thing sux. As usual appreciate any and all suggestions.

It heats up when you are driving? Do have the air dam on? Ground effects on the front?

I would suspect they are or his temps would really climb in a parking lot instead of going down.

No, I do not have the ground effects, or the air dam. Yes, the fans kick on. It overheats only with the AC on under a load.

If you truly do not have the air dam installed, then you have found your problem. The air dam is the only way that the condensor and radiator receive cooling air, as there are no holes in the front of the car for air to pass through. If you need to buy a new air dam I believe there are a couple of vendors who sell them. Maybe one of the other board members can chime in here and let you know where to order one. GM dealerships may even have them. Hope this helps.

You must have the air dam on.

You set your fans at a lower turn on temp and bleeded the coolant systems right?
