Lightbulb car heat up

Ok, I have a 94 z28. I have changed the thermastat, coolant temp, flushed the radiator and got the air out of the line. I have checked to see if anything was lodged in the radiator blocking it and both fans do kick on. So what is my problem with it heating up when I stop and go in traffic????

When I drive down the road the temp stays fine. It goes almost to the red when I sit for long periods of time almost to 260! It is like the fans want to kick on and off when they want to. Sometimes they kick on around 220, and sometimes they don't kick on at all. We put a scanner on it, it showed that the fans were off, I get out and BOTH fans are running. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

I know this might sound stupid but take the top plate off the radiator and check between the condesor core for the air conditioner and the radiator. Alot of us have some how (I'll never know how) gotten a plastic grocery bag in there.

I also got a fan switch to lower the temperature at which the primary fan comes on. Around 180 deg. it's cheap and easy to install. I bought the car 2 years ago and was amazed how high the temperature goes before the fan comes on.

replace you WP, put 160* stats, and reprogram the fans to 185* to turn on....that should do the trick
