Car dies and won't start
Car dies and won't start
This problem happens every once in a while after I get on it. Last time I was driving in town, had to give it a little more gas than usual (it didn't get above 4000 rpm) because of the heavy traffic, but then drove about a block and shut off the car. After about 2~2.5 hours I went to start my car and it acted like it was misfiring, and died. So I tried starting again, same thing. Then after it sits for approx 15-20 minutes it starts up and drives fine. Any idea what it is? I just gave it a tune up about a month ago.
Re: Car dies and won't start
what all did you do in the tune up? have you replaced the commons like spark plugs, wires, fuel filter could be clogged? check your wires at night when its pitch dark to see if they're arching before buying new ones. could have also been bad gas the last time you filled up. was the water temp within operating range? (i.e. not going into the red?) just my $0.02

Re: Car dies and won't start
worst case ceneario is your Opti or ICM is going bad...both are electronic and compleeeeetely unpredictable, and from my experience will NOT throw any codes...go with what silent said, check all your O2's and your MAF, then if its still not fixed, see if you can pull some codes, if not...it could be a job ahead of you which i will add with a little determination is not that bad, i did it, annnd replaced my cam and valvetrain in one weekend
