Car died while driving..now no start.
Well I was leaving work car started fine drove of the parking lot fine crossing and intersection at slow speeds with music on and realized I wasn't accelerating....great oh I see my car is off I coast across into another parking lot a guy helps me push me car up the hill into a parking space, keep in mind car was only running for maybe a total of 2-3 minutes if that. Anyway Had to get towed home 28 miles...
Car just shut off no hint of a stutter or shake it was like I was driving and I just turned the Key off. Car now just cranks. I still have fuel pressure so I'm pretty sure it's not a fuel issue even tried spraying starting fluid into the intake still no change. So I;m thinking no spark (went through Shoeboxes site to test ignition stuff, I have gone through the process of testing the ICM power connections, the coil continuity test, the opti wire harness test, and using AC on my volt meter to test when cranking if I was getting 1-4 volts on my ICM plug and it is...great.
So I'm lost now could it still be the optispark? I really don't want to just start throwing parts at it. I'm at a loss right now car has never had a no start stall issue. is there a way to make sure the coil is actually sparking? (disconnecting coil wire from Opti and seeing if it sparks does that work).
Sorry for the long post wanted to add as much info as possible I need this thing fixed quick. Thanks for any input.

Re: Car died while driving..now no start.
It's good that you tested the wiring as that's often a source of problems. To test for spark, get a spare plug and pull the easiest spark plug wire and have an 'assistant' crank it over while you look for spark. I suspect you don't have it because starting fluid made no difference, but it's good to verify. If you have spark at the plug then the problem is elsewhere, if you don't pull the wire from the coil to the opti at the opti and test for spark by holding the end about a 1/4" away from the engine and cranking it over. No spark at the plugs but spark from the coil points to the opti, no spark at either says something else.
If you have a no spark condition then take the coil and ICM to your local autozone and have them tested. I'd usually recommend testing the ICM hot and cold as they often fail when hot but you have a no start condition when cold so hot doesn't matter much at this point.

Re: Car died while driving..now no start.
Do take the ICM and the coil to be tested if you find no spark. ICM failure won't show up as a specific code (I don't think so, anyway) adn Autozone, or equivilant, can test it for you for free...
Re: Car died while driving..now no start.
After you cleared DTC 16 did it come back, while trying to start it? When the PCM can't find the low res pulse from the Opti it shuts down the fuel system = no start.
