car died in the middle of a turn..
Coming back from lunch today, I made a left turn from a red light and when I tried to accelerate, the car just sputtered and died. It will crank, but idles very rough and dies under light acceleration. If I rev it to about 2500 rpms, it smooths out a little bit but if I just let it idle, it stays cranked for about 10 seconds then dies again.
Any ideas?
95 z28, btw.

I have the same problem, yesterday and the day before. Before i went to the races i tried to start my car and it cranked but it wouldn't start. so i left it for about two minutes and i tried it again and it started. then the day after, i drove it down the road about 2 miles to the store and i shut my car off, then 10 minutes later i went to go start it and it started fine then i backed my car up and out of no where it just shut off and it wouldn't start but it was cranking. It seems like there either was no fuel getting to my car or the coil is bad? i let it sit for about 45 minutes and it started right back up. I've been thinking a lot about this situation and i still haven't come up with anything. it could be the coil. the fuel pump isn't bad because you can hear it kick on before you start the car. I drive a 94 Chevy Camaro Z28
In both cases - original post, and the hijack above - check the fuel pressure and scan it for codes.
A scanner would allow you to see how the idle air control (IAC) motor is responding to try and prevent the stall, or at least how the PCM is telling it to respond.
The fact that "you can hear it kick on before you start the car" doesn't mean the fuel pump "isn't bad". The only thing that matters is the pressure. It could be running, and not producing the required pressure.
