Thumbs down car died in intersection today!! NEED HELP

Latelt my car has been misfireing and sometimes it would have trouble starting. At first i didn't think it was the ingnition i thought it was fuel related because the otispark and rest of the ignition onlt have 5000 miles on them. But yesterday the car died on me on the highway and now it won t even crank over. You can hear the solenoid and the starter start cranking but then it stops?? Its not the battery because i already had a booster pac on it. ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREAT.

Re: car died in intersection today!! NEED HELP

If the car won't crank (which is defined as when the ign. switch is turned to the "start" position and the starter is actually turning the engine over) then the coil is not the problem. This condition that you are experiencing has been discussed here many, many times and people have posted the proper troubleshooting sequence to follow that will allow you to determine what has failed and what needs to be repaired/replaced. Just search in this forum for your car's condition and you will find all the information you need. Also, check out Shoeboxes website for great troubleshooting tips: http://shbox.com/page/index.html
