Car Died, Dont know what to Do !
Started my car yesterday and it ran for about 10 seconds then completely shutoff. Took the key out and tried to restart it but starter motor would not even turn over (nothing worked, completely dead). None of the dummy lights operate nor my cdplayer (no power). I am positive its not my battery ( its brand new and other power sources work!) and my running lights and radar detector both operate. The back lights on the dash will operate only if the head lights are on although the dummy lights still will not. I think either my PCM/ECM is fried or there is some kind of disruption or break in my power supply running to the starter and the Dummy lights. I believe the Head lights and Cig lighter have a dircet but alternate route to the battery than the dummy and starter. PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHATS GOING ON, IM SERIOUSLY SCREWED IF WE CANT

Few Questions
(1) How do you know if you have a fried ECM/PCM? (2) How much is a new one ? (3) is the total install hard and how would you do it if needed?
I really dont want it to be the PCM. I think i was unclear when i mentioned what happend above. When i got in my car, i started it as i normaly would, It fired up perfectly, no weird sounds, it was perfect. About 10 seconds later it just died, then i took the key out of the ignition and put it back in and tried to restart and that is when nothing happend, the starter solenoid didnt even click, complete silence.
Load
Without putting a load on the battery, it's impossible to figure out if it's any good. Small accessories, such as lights, will work fine with a sub-standard battery. Being new means nothing. Your problem does sound like the ignition switch underneath the dash, though. It's connected to the steering column. I don't know any way to test the unit other than replacement, so you might try cheaper solutions first. Good luck.
security
Oh, I forgot to ask if your security light is on. If it is, check out this thread: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...t=key+resistor
