car is dead kinda

My car had a misfiring prob for a while at around 4500-5500 rpm for while under load and we fixed it with a coil change.( note before fixing it we had hollowed out the cat) My car ran awesome for a week untilll on very rainy day i felt her misfire some at a light. It got worse and worse and now when i start her its hard for her to turn over. She runs liek sh*t especially in gear she stalls. I dont have the money to fix it so she is sitting in the garage. Now my brother says this is the opti and from what i read its seems to be. I was wondering could hollowing out the cat caused anything?...liek with the o2 sensors???....or in anyones opinion is this for sure the opti??? the car is throwing the ses light .....thanks for reading

First things first... you need to take your car to Autozone or other local automotive parst store and have it scanned to see what code(s) it's throwing. That will definetely help out in diagnosing the problem.

As far as hollowing out the cat goes... no, it will not cause misfiring problems. I can't think of any reason that would cause ignition problems.

The optispark could quite possibly be heading out, but go and get the car scanned (it's free) and go from there.

Yes, you need to find out what the SES is for, but AZ usually only scans OBD-II, not to mention how confused they get with a 1995 LT1 f-body.
