I've been trying to eliminate this problem for quite some time now. My Z28 has a CC306 cam, 1.6 RR, K&n CAI, P&P heads w/ port matched intake, eliminated egr, custom exhaust w/ original manifolds (eek)... and a few other small mods.

Here's the difficulty... I smash on the gas and it cuts out past 5k rpm. To try and eliminate the problem I have replaced my opti, installed a new (stock replacement) fuel pump, retuned the valves for the millionth time, got MADZ28 to write me a few killer tunes to try. After all of which it still cuts out.

Anybody have any ideas???? Here's what I'm going to try next, fuel injector cleaner, and new fuel filter. I'm running out of ideas.

Have had this problem in the past actually twice both times (same as you described only at high rpms when WOT) was the fuel filter easy fix if that is the case just make sure you switch that puppy fast if your skin doesnt like gasoline

 

Opti,fuel pressure or valve springs if tune up is good.
