Car Cranking But Won't Start???????
Car Cranking But Won't Start???????
Lastnight when I came home it felt like the car was missing or surging. The miss or surge was intermediate and very quick. But now this morning the car won't start. It's cranking, but it won't fire. I've checked the coil wire and it seems to be fine, the fuel puimp is working and I've got good fuel pressure. What else could it be? This is my daily driver, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Check the coil output by using an ignition spark tester, not just visually...they're about $5 at any parts store and look like a screw with a wire and a clear tube. You set a certain gap (it says on the instructions) and connect it inline, and if the coil is strong enough it should be able to jump it. Weak coils often appear ok, but can cause your symptoms. I've gotten screwed by that before and always use a tester now...
Check the intake for obstructions too...might be as simple as you sucked up a grocery sack.

I started checking around and found out that it was the opti-spark wire harness. Some how it had loosened up. Probably when I changed the water pump last week. Thanks
