UPDATE:Car Broke down today...more help pls

Everything had been just fine, I drove to OKC to meet Kevin, and after I left I was stopped at a sign and all of a sudden it started to sputter like it wasn't getting enough fuel or something and the Service Engine light started BLINKING. I pulled over and popped the hood and didn't hear any knocking or anything so I shut it off, I let it sit for a few minutes tryed to start it and it wouldn't start, so I let it sit for a while longer while I scratched my ***, and let it cool off so I could feel to make sure all the spark plug wires were on, so after an hour it started and I got on my way with the Service Engine Soon light blinking I went about a block it started running a little better, it was just missing a little, then the Service Engine light stopped blinking and it just stayed on. As I drove on it seemed to get better and better. I made it back to my house in Norman and it seemed to be running just fine. I'm going to get it scanned for codes to see what I can get from that.
Anyone have any ideas?

The code is P0300 Random/multiple misfire detected
I'm going to start with wires and see what happens.

any ideas

Were you driving in the rain? Did you happen to hit a puddle before it died?

No rain it has been totally dry. The wires have 90K on them so I'm hoping it is them. The opti only has about 10K miles on it. It also has a new pvc, new and new fuel filter.

UPDATE:

Got the wires changed and it was good last night and this morning. On my way home for lunch it started sputtering. I could give it gas and it would stop and start acting normal again. The sputtering comes and goes intermittently (sp?).
Anything else I could try before changing the opti?
Could it be bad gas?

I'm still having problems....
It is missfiring in cylinders 1 and 3 after scanning with a Tech II. I've now changed the opti, wires, plugs. The coil is getting plenty of spark. I saw some leakage coming out of those two cylinders so they've been re-tapped. I've also tried a known good MAF, which didn't help. And I've flushed the injectors.
Any other opinions on what I should do next?

A bad ignition control module has been known to act up when hot. I would look at any routing of plug wires near any wiring harnesses as well.

Are you saying that it is bad to have plug wires running near harness wires?
Is there any way to test the ignition module to see if that is what is causing the problem?
Thank You!!!!!

I'm still going to say Opti, sorry... I just replaced mine, and your symptoms are exactly the same as mine were.

Electromagnetic interference from the wires can affect things. The ABS wiring is real susceptible and I would not route any plug wires near the opti harness. Most of the computer reference signals are 5v, so it does not take much to skew them.

Give a look to all wiring going to the coil and module and check the harness connectors. Make sure no wiring has any chafes or pinches in it.

If the problem is intermittent, testing the module may not show anything. I have read posts that say some auto stores can test modules, but not sure if ours is one of them.

It was the Ignition Control Module (had a small crack in it), and the EGR valve was getting stuck.
