Car backfires
Car backfires
I just finished my lt header install 2 days ago. Got my new ovc wires in yesterday and got them on today after work. I started the car just fine and it idled perfectlly. I went to back it out of the garage, pushed the clutch in and then when i gave it just a little bit of gas it backfired. And as i was pulling it up the driveway (to my spot) it backfired the whole way.
I was thinking that maybe i just crossed a plug wire?
Suggestions please

Re: Car backfires
Yes my o2's are off. I could not get the one out of the pass side manifold So i ordered new ones and they will be in tomorrow. And it does backfire when i push the gas not let off.

Re: Car backfires
If you have a crossed plug wire, then it wouldn't idle very good at all. But it wouldn't help to re check your wire placement.
I can't say as to your o2's not being connected though. I guess it could cause that, but I don't know, so maybee someone else can help more on this issue.

Re: Car backfires
What else could possibly cause the backfire? I will go back and check the wiring again after work tomorrow but what else should i look for?? Maybe an unconnected sensor? I will also put the new o2's on tomorrow.
