Car is acting weird...

Car acts weird until it gets at normal operating temp.

Car will want to stall and misses (I think it's a miss... I press the throttle and nothing happens, then I get jolted into my seat).

But once cars hits operating temp, I punch it, all problems go away. But I have to punch it, otherwise it'll want to stall.

Could that be a spark problem?

maybe the gas valve/pump (not sure of the name)? not really sure but something similar happened to me when mine went out in my truck a few years ago.

Fuel Pressure Regulator? Maybe weak fuel pump? Make sure none of the vacuum connections came loose, I've heard of people spraying WD-40 around them to check for leaks too. I believe, at least, the condition might be running too rich, so maybe the O2's? Perhaps a clogged fuel filter?

But why would the car run better once it reached normal operating temperature?

Re: Car is acting weird...

It could be a faulty coolant temp sensor or inlet air temp sensor. If they are telling the computer that the engine or air temps are significantly higher than they really are, the engine will run way too lean until it reaches normal operating temp.

Re: Car is acting weird...

It runs worse once it warms up, until I floor it. Not better Could it be because I removed the EGR? I heard that lowers combustion temperature. Now when I removed my headers when I rebuilt my heads, the wire harness for the knock sensor/O2 sensor on the passenger side was burnt through, the wire for the knock sensor was toast, and I saudered another one in, could the Knock sensor be bad and causing me problems? I'll try the IAT and Coolant temp sensors as well

Are you saying that you have to floor it, then the car will run better? Once the car warms up that is... meaning the car will want to stall even at about 180 degrees, but once you get on it, it will idle alright?
