Capping Waterpump.

so my ac condenser is on its way out, gonna by the bypass pulley. i was just wondering how can i cap off the outlet that connects to the ac condenser hose? do the outlets on the 95 lt1 waterpump unscrew? i was told they are threaded so if i can unscrew one napa sells a cap that screws right in is this true?

The AC has nothing to do with the water pump..you can remove your ac compressor without having to touch your water pump. Also you can buy a by-pass pulley made by Dorman for 40.00 and remove the complete ac compressor and bolt the pulley right in its place..I think this is what you were trying to ask..

See Shoebox's diagrams:

As noted, no connection from the water pump to any part of the A/C system. Sounds like you may be looking at the oil cooler bypass hose.

As these hoses age they weaken from the inside.....blowing up like a aneurism is pretty common. If your hoses are original, and they probably are, the newest they can be is 14 years old.

BTW, it helps if you make a signature so we can address year-specific items or get a look at what you've modified when giving advice....

That is a coolant line, not a heater hose. That line he is referencing costs a pretty penny to purchase new, which is why he shows how to clamp it off with new hose.

If at all possible, I would replace whole lengths of hose at a time.

I don't know what you're talking about...that is the forward end of a heater hose. Both heater hoses have those same fittings at both ends. And,yes, the repair Rob has outlined will work on them as well....

Of course. I stand corrected. Sorry for any confusion.
