Errrr, probably for the same reason anyone puts a windgae tray in their pan. To keep the "windage" caused by the moving pistons from disturbing the oil in the sump area. The windage is the flow of air inside the crankcase caused by the pistons moving up and down.

Yes it does, also has baffles. I went with a milodin thou, alittle less expensive and it was in stock a summit.

>read the thread before you make moronic statements

BTW- the windage tray that Canton recommends is the #20-908s

I already have the 4th Gen Fbody oil pan, but couldn't remember if it came with the windage tray.

>I can't remember its been on for a while and someone at work asked me. So I also emailed Canton and they recommended their SBC scraper/windage tray.

this actually their response to my email "... check out our 20-908s windage tray you may need to." You'd think it was from Yoda

Re: Canton Oil pans....?

I tried to buy the Canton last week but EVERYONE is sold out. I mean everyone. I tried summit, jegs, local places, all supporting vendors here, and even every place that came up on google. The places that said they had em when I called they gave me a lame excuse that they sold the last one the day before and the database did not update...convenient.

Anyway I bought the miloden from victory racing engines cause they're a cool group. I hear it works good and is atleast $100 cheaper than the canton after buying everything.

>I don't live to far from them, but I got mine when were plentiful (I guess), but I found a few on Ebay ready to ship and new in box. I know you already bought a Milodon ... how do you like it?

Re: Canton Oil pans....?

I just put a 242-T in my 383, had to clearance the crank scraper for the eagle rotating assembly
Also had to do away with the oil/coolant cooler with the FLP headers to be able to get the oil filter on, and with these headers and the canton oil pan, they touch at the windage tray area on the drivers side
