Canton oil pan - scratches

Is it normal for the pan to have scratches like this? They're deep enough that you can feel them with your finger nail. I'm just worried about getting a good seal since they run all the way up to the mating surface.

They seem a little deep. I wonder what they're from? Maybe from the forming? Probably best if I give Canton a call, just wondered if anyone else's looked like that.

That's from shaping the metal and is normal. Won't hurt a thing.

what he said, it's just the forming, I think they could do a better job and for 340 bucks I hope my 6 qt pan will be a little smoother looking. But the seal will take care of it, you could maybe put a very thin film of rtv but I doubt you'd need it.
