Canton Oil Pan/Exhaust Clearance?
Has Any one heard about this? I am having my mechanic put in a Canton oil pan into my 1994 LT1 Z, (only because I cant do it myself). He was concerned because the old exhaust had about 10mm clearance, and with the Canton Oil Pan, there seems to me NO Clearance. I am going to change the headers in this Z, but not for a bit longer, maybe a month. Is it a problem to have it butt up against it? Is there a wrap of some kind, that can be applied to keep it from rubbing? Any help is appreciated.
Re: Canton Oil Pan/Exhaust Clearance?
Obviously that's not a good situation to have the exhaust right up against the oil pan. You'll be transfering heat into the oil. I guess you can try some of that high temp exhaust wrap, but why don't you just wait to install the oil pan until you do the headers.
Re: Canton Oil Pan/Exhaust Clearance?
When i purchased the Canton Pan, I asked a few questons and nothing in the answers lead me to believe that there would be a problem installing it now. The Pan is ready to go in, so i am kind of in the middle of the install. I'll Look for the wrap in an Autoshop and Slip it in there for the time being.
