Canton 242T users with Hooker LT headers...

I'm sure I'm not the only one to encounter this... the headers may have to be loosened up in order to get the level sensor plug into the sensor and I'm not even sure it'd clear enough to not melt the plug.
Any tips on this? I was thinking of just putting a resistor in the sensor plug itself. If anyone has done this let me know what size resistor?

Thanks

I'm sure you can just get the oil level sensor tuned out when you get your car tuned.

Yeah I dunno... My tuner mentioned needing to do the same to his gf's car so who knows. The good news is it runs and the pan doesn't leak a drop.

I did that setup for a guy too, and we ended up just leaving it unplugged, and making an adapter plug that would allow his oil temp sender to go in there. had to make that short as possible and it was still very close to touching.

The oil level sensor is just a switch, not really a sensor. Oil level up - switch closed; oil level down - switch open and you get the light. When I put my 242T pan on with the Hookers, I started getting the light intermittently. I guess the sensor is not down far enough in the pan to close the switch consistently. But I don't need a light to tell me the oil level is low, so I snipped the wires and shorted them together...no more light

By the way, Canton sells a plug that fits in the sensor hole, but you can't get the sensor out with the headers installed. I bought the plug, but I'm sure not going to remove the headers just to do that. I'll just wait 'til the next time I have a reason to go into the engine again.

The thread is an M20 x 1.5 straight thread with a crush washer seal. Good luck on finding that in Lowe's

I heat taped the wires and left it in. Took a little patience to get it in around the headers.
