Can't Thread in new oil sending unit
Can't Thread in new oil sending unit
Ok i got the old oil sending unit out but it was broken in half so it was easy ,but i cant thread in the new one . It is like because it points towards the firewall and cant get the right angle to get it started .
But why when i look at shoebox's pic it looks like it should point towards the brake booster ? mine points towards the firewall , and cant get it thread in i tried for 2 hours before we closed to just get it stared , What gives ?

Re: Can't Thread in new oil sending unit
The sending unit is 2 pieces. The big black sending unit its self and a 90 degree elbow that screws into the top of the block.
Take a wrench and turn the 90 degree piece so the threads points towards the booster.

It's actually 3 pieces, 2 90 degree fittings and the sending unit itself. Here's a photo from Shoebox's site.

You may need to rotate one of the fittings to get it to point more towards the brake booster.
