maybe your not hitting the gas all the way. my car gets squirrely anywhere over 3/4 throttle from a stop and wont stop spinning till i chirp 3rd. this is a m6, but thats not even dumping the clutch just punching it from like a 10-15 roll.

When my friend first got his old 95 Z A4 he wasn't aware he had to run premium gas, and his car wouldn't even spin the tires with a tank of 87. It could always be something as simple as that....

well premium is recommended for our cars. if you just drive normal without burying the throttle all the time i am sure an 89 octane will be ok. our premium around here is not even 93 octane and the quality is junk. the local shops just tell me to get the cheapest stuff i can here and run a tank of amoco or mobil through it when i happen to go out of town and see one of those stations.

Um, i have been running 87 octane and my car will spin the tires yet. Since i need gas anyways maybe i will try some 93 and see if the tires light up anymore Plus I didn't know our cars where suppose to run of 93, I mean I could see using it if you had more mods than stock.

it says it right in the manual. And I also believe that it says use premium fuel on the gas cap cover. Its because if the compression ratio of our engines. Its much higher than most vehicles.

good luck
When i mash it i go sideways too sometimes...go figure lol

mine would chirp for a while, but after intake and exhaust i can leave 50 feet of tread no problem. it just winds up so much faster with a couple boltons. Make sure you're in drive too, not OD. BTW, i have an auto w/ 172K miles.

I don't know fellas. It sounds to me like something could be wrong with the car. That thing should get nuts from a stop. My friends 95 Z is an auto and it'll do burnouts that'll put my 6 speed to shame. His does have 323's in it though. If I were you I'd take her down to autozone and have them check out your codes for you. It could just need a tune up.

Will have autozone scan codes tomorrow, will that show bad plugs or bad opti?

If your 95 is an obd1 pcm with obd2 connector, I don't think Auto Zone can scan it, they don't have the right hook-up available . The Opti might show up on a scan but I don't think bad plugs will.

I run 315/35-17s with A4 and 2.73 gears and can roast them off on newer asphalt below 70*F but above that it depends on surface of pavement.

Tonight I ran a crotch rocket at a 10mph roll and though I lost, my 1-2 shift was pretty impressive when the rear kicked out a couple of feet to the side less than 2 car lengths behind the bike. It was only 50*F out tonight, though.
