can't remove passenger side head???

i'm in the process of removing my heads...after i got all the bolts off of the driver side head and tapping it with a hammer using a block of wood the thing just slipped right off...

getting the bolts on the passenger side was a little harder because i had to jack up the motor to get to the last bolt and get the header out...

right now i have all the bolts off and can't get the head off...i looked around it and can't find any other bolts...i tried to use the same block of wood and hammer method as recommend in the manual but still no luck
i'm using a hanye's manual and retraced all my steps...and got all the bolts off that it mentioned...
i tried searching and looked at a detailed diagram of the top of the engine but can't find any other bolts that i am missing....

any suggestions...am i missing any other bolts...not sure what to do....

thanks in advance for your help

Mine was a biotch to get off too. I just kept knocking the hell out of it with the hammer and wood and jerked on it with my fingers in the runners, eventually a corner broke loose and I wiggled it off.

There is only 17 bolts and in the same pattern on both heads, its prolly just being stubborn.

Count the bolt holes. Also make sure the accessory bracket is not attached to it.

try using a hammer handle in one of the runners as a lever. be careful though, that aluminum is pretty soft.

That's where my money would be bet. If memory serves correctly, you have to take the PS Pump bolts out (Two of them) and slide the PS Pump to the side to get to the bolt that holds that bracket to the head. I just took mine off two weeks ago......I should remember these things.

i have all 17 bolts off....don't want to beat it too much b/c i plan on using the heads...i'm not getting new ones...

do you have a diagram of the accesory bracket...besides the 17 headbolts i didn't remove anything else off the side...

how many bracket bolts are there, how many are attached to the passenger head?

If I recall there is only one. There may be two, I just can't remember. I know one is right beheind the PS Pump and if there is another, it's right at the top most part of the accessory bracket, it's hard to see.

As long as your not using metal wood I don't see how you'd be hurting anything by hitting. I think there was two bolt for the acc. bracket, one right behind the ps pump and another to the right of it, kinda hidden, its a stud but I don't think there was anything bolted to it.

theres 2 bolts that hold the accessory bracket. guaranteed thats your problem. i overlooked them as well. one is directly behind the ps pulley, the other is like 3 inches to the right of it (and a bit up), youll find em. ittl come off no prob after that.
