Angry cant get last header bolt in!!!!

i am soooo close to being doen with this header install. last night i finally got my bolts after waiting for 2 weeks!! well i got all bolts in except the #6 primary bolt!! how the heck did you guys get that in? the priamry comes off the head and bends like 90deg. towards the back of the engine, so its hard to even get the bolt started in there straight!! i can barely get it started with my fingers, but then it tightens up, and im affraid to cross thread the hole if i just tighten it down. it seems tight though only because the bolt is rubbing against the primary! anybody experience this? any ideas?! if i can get this last bolt in after work tonight then i can FINALLY start her up!!!

try taking a shovel handle and moving the tube over the direction you need this is a common thing when installing headers. It will move fairly easy one way or another a few MM.And dont tighten up all the bolts untill you get them all started.Plus Never Sease works great.

Mine went in tight too. I know it was not cross threaded so I just torqued it on in there.
Don,t have to worry about that one coming loose.

Put all the bolts in there a few turns first, then start running them in. It's a tight squeeze.

Good luck.

Loosen your other bolts, pull the header flange away from the head, pass the bolt through the header flange and then thread it into the head. If that does not work, try a slightly shorter bolt.

on my MAC headers, I had to slightly enlarge one of the holes a touch with my dremel. Nothing excessive - just a slight shave off of one side of the hole.

Only do this after loosening all the header bolts like described above. If that doesnt work, you should be able to get away with enlarging the hold just a touch.
