Yea man, I had a hell of a time getting one off one time. I don't recommend this way but I ended up using a big hammer to get it off.. Was going to put a new one on anyway. For some reason the puller would never seem to get it to start.

How are you using the puller? Do you have three bolts threaded into the hub, with something inserted into the hub to push off of? Some people thread the crank bolt back in and push off of that. I used a 1/4" drive 6 inch long extension to psuh off of and it worked perfect.

are you pushing against a bolt?

if you dont have a long bolt to the same spec as the old crank bolt then you are just pushing against the hub itself instead of off the end of the crank.

Yes, this is the "secret". The hub is not open in the middle like the SBC balancer. Just be careful of the crank threads.

dont use the one that clamps on... the screw in the middle will constantly walk off...

get the puller that screws into the threads, makes pulling out like 55 times easier

Sorry its been a while since I've been on, I got mine from Jegs I believe, its the fluidamper (however you spell it), it seems like a good piece to me. I think it was like 170 though, can't member.. Make sure its for the Lt1 so it'll clear the distributor.
Not sure if the hammer will work for you since its in the car, I had the motor out and pan off (motor spun some bearings) so I wasn't really worried bout messing up the hub/crank. I believe I used a long punch and hit on one side and the other until it started to move after it starts its pretty easy. Believe it or not it wasn't messed up very much from banging on it. I know its prolly a bad way to do it, but hey I was mad at the puller for not pulling it off!!!!!!!!
By the way I was using the puller that has the screw in the middle that sort of pushes it off. Still didn't work.
