Cant eliminate DTC 26...EEC solenoid
Cant eliminate DTC 26...EEC solenoid
I managed to eliminate DTC 42 by replacing my ICM, but for DTC 26 - EEC purge solenoid it's proving more difficult.
So far, I"ve replaced the solenoid, reflashed my PCM, used a different PCM with my programming with and without the new EEC solenoid, have checked the wires and connectors (all are good) and nothings worked.
First question I have, when programming your car, that "ticking" you hear under the hood is from the EEC solenoid, if its clicking (I'm assuming opening and closing), then its powered and it works, so its safe to say nothing is wrong with it, correct?
Secondly, my #6 fuse in the underhood fusebox keeps blowing (my 10amp Fan fuse), so again, is it safe to assume they're on the same circuit, and something could be wrong with my FANS instead of the solenoid?
I checked the wires and all seem good, so do connectors...but I do get DTC 77 as well, but that has always come up as long as I've had a laptop to scan my car...rumor told me that it was because I've gotten my fan turn on temp's lowered..true/false?
I searched some other's to see what kind of problems or fixes they did, but of what I"ve read...replacing the solenoid or fixing the wires has done the trick.
AS a note, I have my fuel vapor line blocked when in enters the engine (the line that goes from the tank to the EEC solenoid), blocked it by mistake thinking it was emissions related. But have driven it for 3000 miles with no problems till now.
What am I overlooking? Any other ideas....

unblock that hose and try it, some codes take a while for the pcm to realize hey theres a problem here, I'd unblock that hose, re connect it and try that... also check your fans to make sure one isnt siezed up, that'll blow a fuse.
Alright, I tried disconnecting my fans, to see if they were the problem...still same problems, code 26 and car runs like crap.
I recently got a new tune from PCMFORLESS, so I put in my old tune to see if it was something with it...but I disabled the HardWare Verification for the EEC, it didnt throw a code/SES light, but it still had the same attitude(idled lower, when I'd give it some gas, it'd hesitate, or if I was in Drive and gave it some juice, it almost backfire...) and fuse blew again, as usual.
I'm running out of ideas, patience and fuses....the hose, if I uncork it, wont really make a difference, there's nothing connected "electornically" to it on that end. The solenoid works, heck, I even put a new one on and same exact thing.

Had to finally take car to shop, couldnt figure the problem and come to find out, they said they replaced the oil pressure sending unit, 02 extension was fried thru from my longtubes and a few other wires had been slightly melted.
Car runs good now, all problems eliminated...
