can you get a false rich condition?
can you get a false rich condition?
My car is showing 118-120 on the pass side and 125-128 on the drivers side. The thing is that the pass side in reality is actually running lean though. I know this because my damn header was glowing on the pass side and not the driver side. Im thinking that the o2 sensor is thinking its rich when its not so it keeps pulling fuel even though it shouldnt. So my question is that is this even possible to have a false rich? By the way it does this in all fuel cells but gets better in the higher rpm ones. I have a csv log if anyone would like to see it. Its located Here
Re: can you get a false rich condition?
A leaking injector(s) will cause a "false rich". The excess fuel leaving the cylinder with the leaking injector consumes some of the residual oxygen leaving all 4 cylinders, and the O2 sensor sees less O2 in the exhaust and assumes its running rich, and cuts the long terms.
