Can we adjust LT1 clutches?
Can we adjust LT1 clutches?
I put in a Spec Star Stage III clutch, 1500 miles.
My pedal travel is RIGHT at the top!
I'm talking you push the pedal about 1/10th in, and it is completely disengaged (reciprocal for engage, makes it interesting to take of smoothly without lunging the car).
Is there a way to adjust the LT1 hydraulic clutch setup?
My car is a '93 Z28 (6spd).
BTW, 1500 miles and my Spec Stage III Carbon is STILL breaking in, still improving, but still chattery.
I probably should've gotten a Stage II.
Thanks for any help!

Spec says that the most likely cause is my flywheel was surfaced too much.
The limits are .008"-.010" PER SURFACING, and you can surface up to 3 times, so the max material you can remove is about .030".
I think the shop that surfaced my flywheel took that much or more.
My clutch doesn't slip, and I have a TINY amount of travel at the top of the pedal, so no harm no foul.
But if I ever feel it slip, I'm gonna just take it easy and plan a weekend to pull the flywheel and replace (sigh).
Who knows, may go a long long time w/out problems, so I'm just gonna drive it until something gives.
Thanks for the feedback!

Teeman, I don't think that is your problem. It would be reverse if you had too much material taken off the flywheel. I bought a junkyard flywheel and had it resurfaced. It worked fine until I burnt that clutch up and resurfaced it again. It would NOT fully disengage when the clutch was depressed fully. I thought it may have been my hydraulics, so I even bought a new set. No dice. I was about to buy a new flywheel because no one had a solution here. My friend went to the local machine shop and found a flywheel shim for a Chevy. Took the trans/clutch out and put the shim in. Clutch works PERFECT now. Actually, I got a hair too big of a shim, since if I push the clutch too far, I can hear the throwout bearing make noise. No biggie thouh. I think the problem with yours is that the fingers on the PP may be too thick. Just a thought.
