can someone tell me...

what the bracket on the back of the lt1 cylinder head is for, its only on one head, i cant remember which side it was on, but i think it was passenger side..

I removed mine when I reinstalled them. Its just kind of there. I have no idea what it is for. I just ignored it.

your not talking about the engine hoist eye bracket are you? I know you have a LT1 but its in a 83 and I know the older engines had brakets front and back for hook up of a hoist chain

If its the same bracket that I am talking about, then there is no way that it is a hosting bracket. The one I am referring to is no more than a piece of sheet metal.

ohh... and it looks like somthing clips to it? on my 93 there is a small silver bracket (more like tab) that a solenoid clips to beleve it was the EGR solenoid.
But if every thing is running and nothing is touching the exaust or belt than throw it away if you dont know were it goes

It's a bracket with a couple of small holes in it for attaching wiring harness clips to keep the harness out of harms way. There was one on the back of the driver's side head on my engine.

its in an 83 camaro, but the motor is a Gen II lt1 from the 4th gen camaros.
