this a full bolton car. the heads i ported myself, gm846 cam,11.70comp,comp r's,futral motorsports tune. can someone tell me why the car falls off so low and why does it jump around (not steady).

I'm going to guess that this is the reason:

Overall, not terrible numbers for home ported heads. Unless you really know what you're doing, you aren't going to see the 400-430 rwhp the LE/AI h/c packages are seeing.

By reading your post, it appears this is a stock shortblock (you said it's a full bolt-on car + heads/cam, so I assume it's not a 355/383). If so, how did you get 11.7:1 compression?

 

this is a new 355 with 600 miles.

 

What is the lash set to? Comp R's need to be set at zero, or 1/16th max. There is alot of power in valve adjustment with Comp Rs.

 

It's a GM846..........I thought that was pretty good (peak RWHP) . What were you expecting?

 

Thats good for home ported heads gm847cam you would have seen 15 more horses. just get some more tuning in and try to get as mucha s you can out of them...

 

this is an A4 car. i'm happy with the #'s i just don't see why the line is jumping. also the valves are set at 1/16th of a turn. futral motorsports thinks the lifters are causing this low rpm. said he seen them do this before.

 

What are your knock counts/retard doing?

 

i have the knock setup to only work or pull timing under 4000rpm anything above that it's locked out so it will not pull anything.
