You're right there is a LOT of opinion in cars...however there are some facts too...96/97 LT1 F bods 285 horse...96-98 Cobra 305 horse...LT1's are not really under rated, I've heard maybe like 5 hp...whoopdee doo...Cobra is rated about right, the power delivery in the two is completely different. I still stand by my original post I think the F bod will win if the Cobra is indeed stock...otherwise you could have a problem...

Mustangs are very nice and I just love their exhaust. I have a 95 Z28 and I usually race when I can. With my car completely stock,except for Flowmaster muffler, I can honestly say Z28's are fast cars. I just hate when computer related problems surface!!

Ok I have owned a 98 GT it was SLOW. VERY SLOW. Not in denial. Dont get me wrong. I NEVER said I dont like Mustangs, but there is no denying they are slower than Z's and T/A. Minus the 03 Cobra which, by the way, needs a SUPERCHARGER to beat an F-Body. So to IrocMania, I have a clue what they are about. The 4.6's are not very fast. Stock for stock Mustangs have nothing. Sorry to burst your little ford bubble man.

we've been through this a million times. Ruling stands- you and your "well ford sucks so they have to supercharge engines" people are still retarded.
DOHC 4.6 is a hell of a lot better motor than the LT1. Lt1 was more or less a failure to be perfected by the LS1. Just a stepping stone. Why do u think it was only on 3 platforms for 5 yrs or so. you have no room to talk.

Oh no you didn't Come up on this web site and say that?
DOHC means top end power. High revving and all that. Pushrod means torque. We have more displacement, more horsepower potential, and of course, f bodies aren't 1/10000th as common as any old ga-hey mustang.

Mustangs cannot touch LS1's, and that's what matters. It's like comparing a Pentium 4 based computer to... what.. I don't know... something that was the **** 5 years ago. GM stopped the f-bodies. Why? We were "winning", but ford was more devoted. They've been hell-bent on toppling the LT1 since day one. They weren't able to do it before the LS1 was introduced.
But remember, now that there is no competition, Ford will stop going for brute speed, they've already gotten in the top spot, have no reason to continue developing the platform.

NOW Ford has to back up what they claim, which is where they fall short.... (ie the recalls on the Cobra's...even the '03 being ratd at 390hp EVERYWHERE...)
