Can I take out a LS1 Yet???

I am just curious if I would be a good race for close to stock LS1's so when I go to the track I can challenge one or not. I think that 1/8mile I would take one, and 1/4mile would be close. Tell me what you think 1/8mile and 1/4mile.

I see a Hooker catback but no headers. I bet you need headers.

I'm not sure what you mean by this comment, but a Z28/TransAM performs almost identical to a SS/WS6. If you can beat one, you can beat the other (driver dependant, of course).

But yeah, just go race and find out.

SS n WS6 are no faster...and you might get the jump on the ls1 but you'll get hawked down probably shortly after and get pulled a few cars...Your probably only putting 250-60 @ the wheels, that wont hold a 300 plus rwhp ls1 off for long...no way will u hang up top...even w/ headers you might not

You've got more mods than i did when I put down 277, so the question is your car well maintained and not a dog from the factory? 373s and a TC in an A4 is more drastic than 3.73s in an M6. Tires?

Of course this is all internet racing adn means jack crap unless you go try it out and back it up. I'm just saying DON'T be afraid of a stock LS1 or even a near stock one. I had more than one person telling me i wasn't even close until i spanked a couple.

All it takes is Long tube headers and a good intake to run with them till 70+. After that you better pray he left OD on, with the AC on full blast

Back when I just started racing, I had shortie Edelbrock headers, Moroso cold air, Flowmaster cat back, drag radials and a shifter. My car would run consistent 13.6's at 100-101. The majority of stock or nearly stock LS1's that I see run 13.2 to 13.4 at 104-106. This is a generalization as I know some run quicker but the track is a great equalizer and drivers do count for something.

I ran my buddies 99 TA with lid and lm and we didnt gain nothing on eachother. Wasnt quite a 1/4 mile but was darn close. Was before my stat not that makes much difference and he was A4 with 2.73 so that worked im my favor.. Go for it and let us know how you did..

Yes, I had wayyyy less mods than that when I started taking down LS1's...I think all I had was a muffler, shifter, CAI, and some suspension work when I was able to consistently beat them.

Go find out!!
