can I soak injectors in anything to clean them when out of car

I got some dirty #30 fms injectors off ebay. The pintle is very dirty and whoever stored these didn't take care b/c some dirt may have gotten in the fuel rail hookup hole(not sure of correct term)
wondering if I can soak them in anything to help clean them.

I would buy some Chevron fuel cleaner (like the kind you put in the tank) and let the pintles soak in it. My injectors in my car were off and looked very clean but if they were dirty i was gonna do that.

Not sure if you can soak the entire injector, but you can get seafoam at your local NAPA store. I havent seen in anywheres else in my area.. ex ... pep boys, advance auto, autozone.....

I don't think soaking the injector will help much. It probably won't be a problem to soak it since the electrical part of the injector is pretty well isolated, but you'll only end up taking the black paint off them and some dirt that's on the outside. (which you can clean just as well with some carb cleaner)
Clean them as good as you can, then install them on the car. If it runs like crap because of them, no regular soaking/cleaning will help... and for the price of the professional rebuilding/cleaning, might as well get some new ones and learn the lesson...
