Can I run a comp 305 in my lt1 without tuning?

Can I install the comp 305 in my a4 with no tuning will the car idle or stall out all the time.I have a 2800 vig if that matters.I will eventually get some programming but not right now if dont' have to.I plan on sticking with obd2 not obd1.I prefer the extra detail on diagnostics that obd2 gives.

100% yes my friend is running EX 224/230 with basically no tune, just a little raised idle speed and changed timing at idle, and it runs very smooth. We ran it with stock tune for no problems as well. It you get tunig cable ($40-$50),I will hook u up with software, and I will change idling for you

Also is the right part number 7-305-8.And I thought this cam wasn't an extreme energy but think it is.Do I have to run type r lifters or are stock type fine.I hate the comp r personally.

If you stick with OBD-2, I won't be able to help you. Then contact Ion (madwolf), he knows what he's doing for a great price

I agree, Ion does great work. Mail-order tunes are relatively inexpensive, so i'd plan for that while you do the swap. Ion will do a PCM exchange deal with you so you can install the PCM with all the calibrations you want at the same time you swap the cams. Only takes 10-15 minutes to change PCMs.
