Can I get bolts from GM?

I lost the bolts for my T56 flywheel cover. Im pretty sure that they are metric. I would like to be able to get the same black lookin bolts. Does anyone know where i can get them and what size they are?

The dealer will sell them to you. Be prepared to pay like $5 each though, not to mention they won't tell you the size of them either.

Yea it will be expensive, maybe someone here with the T56 can chime in on the size, then you can get some ARP bolts

Flywheel housing cover bolts are GM PART # 12337828 . Only $.60 ea at retail.

Sorry, the parts book does not list the bolt size.

Inspection cover. Flywheel housing cover bolts as I listed above-not flywheel housing bolts.

10198997 is for the flywheel housing bolts.

Re: Can I get bolts from GM?

I am confused are the fly wheel housing cover = inspection cover = thin piece of metal that has a round hole for the starter.

fly wheel housing = bell housing = cast aluminum shell the bolts to the tranny on one side and the block on the other.

10198997 is for the flywheel housing bolts = bolts with a 9/16 head the threads into the back of the block.

12337828 if for the flywheel housing cover = screws that look like sheet metal screws that screW into the bottom of the bell housing?

is all this correct?

I don't think it could be more plain. Yes, that is correct.

Re: Can I get bolts from GM?

My local dealer said they don't sell those inspection cover bolts, it's a "hardware item". Maybe that's the polite way of saying "I'm not going in the back to get you a bolt". Maybe I can order them now that I know the part number.
