Can I do this?

I don't know if this is the right forum for this but I'll give it a shot...

I have a Suncoast Creations SS hood and it has a baffle a few inches into the scoop past the grill, can I remove the baffle safely without causing any damage. I don't think it would happen but could it cause a lean condition at high speeds? I know this is a dumb question but there has to be a reason for the baffle in the first place, I just don't know what that reason is, lol.

That's weird then, the gap for air to pass through is about 1/2" and at the bottom so all the wind would push the water on the hood into the opening. So I guess it wouldn't matter if I removed it. Thanks.
