can a bad alternator cause tranny problems?
I had an electrical proble for about a month (flashing gauges, jumping amps, flickering lights). I checked every ground, loose wires ect.. ended up being the alternator-over charging. Replaced that. that night driving home the tranny (4l60e) won't shift from 2nd gear. it slips into 3rd but doesnt fully go in. i have no overdrive too. can a bad alternator short out the 2-3 Solenoid? i dont think its the tranny cause i havent raced with this tranny yet and it only has 4k miles on it. 1-2 shift still chirps the tires. any help wouldbe great.

Yes,
I was told the same thing and had the same problem. The tranny shop said that overload caused my shift solonoids to fry. I never thought such a problem would exist. I did have the solonoids and alternator replaced and the car has run good but In a few months I'm going to a 6-speed. Good Luck bro
