Can 4L60E be shipped UPS?
UPS will accept packages up to 150lbs, but a trans would ship better on a truck. The price you are getting from con-way is their full rate, you need to find someone that has a contract/discount with them. For example, where I work we get about 66% discount with conway. Think where your friends and family members works, chances are that one of them works in a warehouse or a small business that uses conway or a comparable truck line.
I work for UPS and I've seen a transmission or two come by in my time..however they were always strapped very securely to (small) pallets. As long as the entire thing with the pallet weighs less than 150 pounds, it can go.
Check with Roadway Express INC. I had a trans shipped through them (frieght). It was for a 93 cavalier (190lbs) and I only paid $25. The company that sent it to me paid $25. It was shipped on a pallet to my house.
