Yup that is definitely at least part of your problem without a doubt. I am running a little less than 1/8 of a turn and I am worried that is too much. Re do it to slighlty past zero lash and go from there.

OUCH... oh and not to make it worse for you... my A4 3:23 95Z with 74K on the clock and a slipping trans.. pulled off 14.1 @ 97mph with a 2.1 60ft. .. So your mph isnt even close to stock lt1 mph (should be around 100+/- for an M6)

Good luck!!!

yeah...hopefully the valves are too tight...while his ET is suffering from the driving, his trap time shouldn't lose more than 2 mph or so with slow shifts....something isn't right ;[

What happens when my lifters are adjusted too tight? Valves hanging open or what?

i'm pretty sure your valves won't close and you'll lose compression. I had that problem when I took my car up to the track, Hot and humid and pulled a 13.6 @ 103ish. That was also on 1.5 rockers.

What are you shifting at?

You don't need ET streets to get your MPH up. I hit 100.06 MPH on Pep boys tires BONE STOCK untouched car.

Yes your car isn't running right, and give the man a break on his 60fts. He has a very grabby clutch and street tires and a track with NO PREP. I don't think I've ever seen a sub 2.0 60ft on street tires from a fbody before at this track. Most fbodies with street tires pull 2.1-2.2's at this track. Anyway, I have a datalog of his car that I'll post up tomorrow, wot tuning didn't look bad, but he doesn't have any part throttle tuning or it at least appeared that way. He was getting a few degrees of knock retard randomly but nothing bad. Hopefully setting it to zero lash will pick him up a lot. It was hot out but he should still be trapping around 105-108.

Any retard is bad.Put a resistor in line and stop the thing from pulling timing.Valve adjustment will kill it too.2.0-2.1 is not a bad 60" for a stock clutch and street tires. It takes a lot of practice to get one set up like that out of the hole.

He might be losing 2mph at most from the retard. Most 6 speed guys pull 2.2's-2.4's on street tires, and the auto's are the ones pulling 2.1's on street tires.

Re: Cammed LT1 Trapping <95 - HELP

Id say heat up the engine... give it about 30 mins and then pull the valvecovers and re-set the rockers to zero lash. Have some rags handy to keep the heat off. Get a set of nittos or BFG DR's and get your 60's down. That clutch is HARD to launch right. If you are worried about the rear end, get a TA girdle and it should hold up a little more.

My bet is Valves + Reprogramming are the culprit... Valves once adjusted right should help out a lot!

Probably, but false knock from exhaust or valve noise will slow you down more than you think. You can get an LT-4 KM but probably wind up puting the resistor in anyway to eliminate it.He can do a search and go to radio shack and get one with 2 butt conectors and get rid of that problem.Set it on kill and drive it like you stole it is the way to go fast.

Um, yah you should be expecting 12's. I'm running low 12's with basically the same setup, except an A4. Even in ****ty weather I'm in the mid 12's.
