Unhappy Cam swap+springs Issues?? @HELP thnx

Just did a cam swap/springs and my car ran fine first time i ran it. Then i dropped a valve and had to fix everything. everything is put back together and i am having a issue with rpms. My car is a M6. My rpms are fine at idle but once i start moving the car and take it out of gear the rpms are at a high idle of 2 G + then i go back into gear and the rpms want to stay high. the rpms do not come down till i stop. what could be causing this issue?
i checked my vacumm lines and all seem fine. i replace those hard vacumm lines with rubber tubing.

I don't know if it will help but I never replace hard lines with rubber tubing they colapse under suction and tend to rot away from the inside given the right circumstances...
