Cam Selection

NEED TO CHOOSE ONE

LT1 355 8.8:1 compression, heavily ported stock heads 8/10 if 10 is as ported as you can get, lightly ported LT1 intake, 58mm TB, #50 injectors, Vortech S-Trim 12lbs boost

What cam matches up nicely with these specs?

You might want to do a search in the "Forced Induction" forum, This has been discussed there a lot. How high do want to rev it? It's a hydraulic roller? Are you going to get springs to match the new cam or do you have some you need to re-use? What rockers do you have or are you buying new ones?

The more info, the more useful the responses will be.

have you tryed calling the cam companys themselves? crane, comp, isky, ect? all of the cams I have ordered recently have been from isky, its easy to get some one on the line at isky were as crane and comp one could be on hold for an hour.

Planning on reving it to about 6500 maybe 6800 max. Yes its hydraulic roller. I will be buying springs to match. I already have 1.6 roller rockers so I would like to use those.

Since it's HR I assume it's a street or street/strip car? You still aren't being too specific, but here are cams that work well. None of them will go to 6,800, but you will like the car more if the blower is spun faster and the motor revved less.

CC lobes #3111/3170 gives 230/248 @ 0.050" .598/.576" with 1.6 rockers. Ground on a 114-115LSA and with 4 or more degrees of advance.

CC XE lobes #3190/3192 gives 214/224 @ 0.050" .565/.605" on a 114LSA with no advance.

CC XE #3192/3196 gives 224/236 .605/.624" on a 114-116LSA with 4 or more degrees of advance.

A true custom cam chosen by a pro may be a worthwhile investment.
