I am thinking of putting a cam in my car this comming summer and i have a few question.
first of all it is a 96 a4 with 80,000 on it now but will have close to 90k when i am ready of cam install is that to many miles???
I am thinking of getting the cc306 with stock heads and i know even with stock heads this cam wants like 6500 rpm. Can my stock oil pump keep up?
What about injectors and fuel pump i THINK stock would be ok but am i wrong?
I have a BRAND NEW opti on my car but how long will it last at 6500 rpm??
Lastly i am going to do cam, 1.6rr, harden push rods, springs What else will i need? How much is parts alone with gaskets going to cost me? THANKS also i will have a 2800 stall b/c i know this cam needs one.

 

Well if i was you i would get some rrs, hardend pushrods, springs, gaskets, timing set. And anything im leaving out.

Ive got a 306 i bought from a board member on hear that i was gona use but went with a custom grind. I also have some 987 springs and retainers i bought from the same person. About 9k on them. And i do have some 1.6 rrs that are comp pro mags and self alighning. They worked fine but the sa tips are kinda messed up due to rockers not being tight and hitting the retainers. Ill give you these rockers cheap since they are messed up but wont gaurantee them. I will gaurantee i used them on my car and it ran fine.

Oh and your stock injectors and fuel pump should be fine but an upgrade would be a good idea. 90k isnt to many miles lots of people are putting in cams at 150k plus.
