Re: CAM questions

Honestly you'll need new springs for just about any larger cam you put in there. Springs aren't just all about clearing the cam lift either, RPM range is a factor as well.

Yeas you need new springs no matter what aftermarket cam you go with!

Re: CAM questions

The biggest cam with stock springs is stock, and that's pushing it.

Re: CAM questions

yes you have to change the springs. the stock ones didn't even last for me on the stock setup, snapped one in half. also if its any consolation you can replace the springs with the heads on. o yeah and the cams you listed are what id considered to be a little large if you want a smooth idle although a tune can smooth out most of those. Re: CAM questions

your going to have to change springs for just about any cam out there. Its no big deal to change springs with the heads on. Especially if the motor is sitting on a stand. Just turn the motor over till the piston is up top (watch the lifters, exhaust is just about closed and the intake begines to open). When you pull the springs off the valve will only drop 1/4" or so.
