Cam questions..

I have a 94z with the mods in the sig.. I plan on getting a set of lt's, 58mm tb, and my stock heads ported.. I am trying to decide on the cam and from everything I have read the cc306 sounds like what I want. But I do plan on spraying the car...how will the cam work with spray? Do you guys think this is the best cam for me? Also, I do not have emissions checks and only drive the car a little on the weekends and to the track.

I heard that if you plan on spraying regularly that you should get the cam ground on a 114 lsa rather than 110 or 112.

112 LSA on the 306 cam will be fine if you are going to keep the nitrous shot at or below 250HP.

I have it in my TA with a 150 shot.

The 306 has more exhaust duration and exhaust lift than its intake, this is desirable for a nitrous application.

I tune my engine NA to it's max potential with LT1 Edit, then I use my Mallory 685 CD ignition to pull timing while the car is at WOT under the juice. I use PCM Comm to monitor O2 mv's and knock retard to ascertain correct fuel jetting for my wet nitrous system.

Peace, Lalo

I hear the GM 847 cam is pretty good with nitrous, considering it was designed as an NA cam on a 112 LSA. Really, you should think about how often you will be spraying, if you'll be going through a couple bottles a week, I would look into getting a dedicated nitrous camshaft that is designed to be sprayed on. If you will be only spraying at the track a few times a season or something, I wouldn't even take the nitrous into consideration when buying my cam.

The spray will not be used that often. Whenever my buddy runs a little faster than me I will spray a 50 shot, then 75, 100 etc...that is really the only time that it will be used. I will hardly ever use it on the street mainly because I hardly ever drive it on the street. I am wanting to get the max out of it NA before I ever worry about spraying it anyway. Between the cc306 and the GM847...which would you guys recommend?
