The correct value is .620

For mine I just put it next to the stock cam and used a cutoff wheel to slice it down to size and lightly sanded the top so it was smooth. Opti has been working perfect.

My stock cam dowel pin length was .650" (and looks like it could have been a little longer without a problem).

I ordered a new pin from GMpartsdirect. Go and pull the old one out of the cam and its longer! Of all the luck.

How far should the pin enter the cam to assure strength or whatever. The new one is .955 and the one in the cam is 1.018
