cam lift question?
cam lift question?
What is the maximum lift a stock LT1 take without modications to the pistons? the cam i am looking at is this one
cca-07-466-8
Operating Range: 1800-5800 RPM
Duration Advertised: 268° Intake / 276° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 218° Intake / 224° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.6 Rockers: .570'' Intake / .565'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 113°
Any good advice would help me out thanks.
Also,
I looked up this cam on the comp cams site and their specs say with 1.5 rockers. Jegs site says 1.6
Which one to believe?
If I go off comp cams site this cam would be .608 int. and .602 ex. w/1.6 rockers
This is why i am asking this question just in case if i have to get the pistons cut.

Re: cam lift question?
lift is really not the biggest factor in ptv clearances. fwiw, i have .644" lift with my cam. i did replace my pistons but they were actually a little taller than stock and they had the same size reliefs. Im also running a 0.026 head gasket and my heads were milled (2.0 valve's). there is more room than people think... best thing to do is check with some clay.
