cam install problem
cam install problem
Just got done installing a comp cams 224/230 with 1.6 pro mags and comp r lifters. The car runs and sounds fine but can feel no sotp improvment. Additionally when cruising at about 35mph and around 2,000 rpm the car hesitates (or is this cam surge?). I've run diacom on an antique laptop while idling in my garage and found the block learns to be indicating a lean condition, left about 130, right about 140. I was thinking this may be pointing to an intake vacuum leak but have been unable to locate one yet. I'm also getting 3-4 degrees of knock, however am unable to tell how much I get when I hit the throttle (laptop batteries are kaput)
Figured I'd write and see if anyone might have some ideas on what else to check. Some other relavent info:
1. I've adjusted the rockers 1/16 turn past zero lash while idling (car was cold though) Original setting was 1/4 past zero during the rebuild.
2. Checked all the plugs on the left hand side and they look great! Planning on checking the pass side soon
3. Using new AC Delco O2 sensors
4. I've checked all the various vacuum hoses to make sure they were connected and also checked to make sure the hosed themselves weren't leaking
Let me know what everyone thinks..
