cam install

do you guys think a cam install is something a couple college kids can get done over winter brake? so far we have installed long tubes on my lt1 and a friends ls1, motor swap from a 6 to an lt1, normal plugs and wires stuff like that, and messed around with a few trans parts. do you think a cam install out of our reach, is it very detailed or just time consuming? any tips?

Re: cam install

If you have the tools, then its just a time thing. Not difficult but certainly not something you want to rush. Label everything you pull off and if you have a digital camera, take some pictures before you pull things apart for reference on the re-install.

Re: cam install

I think you guys will be able to pull it off. I am installing my Heads/Cam right now> I started on Sat, stopped on Sun night and started up again this morning. I think I've put in around 20 hrs so far. If your just doing a cam swap than I think it will cut down on you install alot more. I found organizing all my parts/gaskets simplifies things also. If you don't get it done in time, just bum a ride from your friends, I'm sure they will understand.
