Cam install
I don't think the cam only is that bad. But doing cam, heads, springs, rockers is a real PITA.
And most of the hardest part is removing the effing headers.
I am almost done with my xe230/236 and ported heads install. Hopefully she breathes this weekend.

I did 2 cam installs on my car and it wasn't hard, just time consuming.
I helped do a cam, intake, spring upgrade, on my friends 99 LS1 and that wasn't too hard either (the springs under the cowl were a little difficult). Took a lot of time though.

which in and of itself wasn't that bad, it was just trying to take it off without the proper tools. WITH the proper tools it was a snap.
Cam waps can intimidate many.....but you just have to lose that fear. If you can change your waterpump, you can do it. Hardest thing to do is:
1. Rocker arm adjustments....not hard once you know how to do,so educate yourself. It is more of a technical know-how.
2. Figuring out a way not to disrupt or tear the oil pan gasket when removing the timing cover. That sucks!!!
3.) Removing the cam, because there is barely enough space to get it out. TIP: You must remove the radiator/condenser.
Just remember that whatever parts you are using are fully compatitle with the Lt1 stock clearances, and that they do not require any type of machining, such as oversized springs (diameter), to humonguous lifts. There are some stock sized springs that just came out that supposely good to .600lift. Cannot remember the name.
FYI, HotCAM, CC305 are direct swaps no machining whatsover.
Good Luck
